He comes to usHe comes to us. He has not abandoned us. Our God overflows with love for us. Out of this love he has sent his son, Emmanuel, God with us. Our God comes to us. He has become like us, taking on human form. He shares his life with us, so that we may come to know him. We have fallen. He has a great call for us. But we are not able to fulfill it on our own. We require his help, his grace. So he brings that grace, and gives it as a free gift. A gift purchased at the price of his human life. He received that life back, and he gives it back to all who will receive. And so he offers it to each person: "will you receive this life, my life?" He has not spoken from some hiding place, or from some dark place of the earth. He comes to us, and is near to the one in need. He awaits our response. And with our "yes", he will sweep us up into his life, into his embrace. He will walk with us, and be with us. God with us. He comes to us. "Say to those whose hearts are frightened, 'Be strong, fear not! Here is your God, he comes with vindication; With divine recompense he comes to save you.'"
