Homosexuality and Marriage

A man is not a woman. A woman is not a man.

Obvious though it may seem, it has become more controversial than one would expect. Man. Woman. Marriage. Family. These intangible constants are being tampered with and tested in the current age. The very fundamental elements of human nature are being called into question. It would seem we have lost so much of our sense of man, woman, marriage, and family that we cannot discern their significances, recognize their characteristics, or distinguish them from their counterfeits.

Homosexuality is a sexual attraction to persons of the same sex. It is a perversion of natural human sexuality, along with prostitution, incest, rape, pedophilia, masturbation, fornication, etc. The homosexual act of its very nature is closed unto itself, and it contradicts the natural complementarity of the sexes.

Though it would seem inconceivable that such a practice would have any association with marriage, much less be considered for recognition as marriage, that is exactly where we are at today.

So what to do? Isn't expressing an opinion against homosexual unions imposing beliefs on others, exercising prejudice and homophobia? Or is it the failure to even utter support for families, for marriage, for human nature that is the injustice? When we keep silent while these basic realities are under seige, we offend humankind and do damage to ourselves, our families, our neighbors, and our society. We are not talking about religion here, we are talking about basic human nature. The success of those who threaten it hinges on the inaction of others.

That the couterfeit be called real is unjust.
